* Following the doubleheader with the Mavericks, Washburn is scheduled to play host to Pittsburg State on April 9 and Missouri Southern on April 10. The doubleheader against the Lions will be senior day for the Lady Blues softball team and the five seniors on the roster.

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. -- The Washburn Lady Blues were swept in an MIAA twinbill by Truman State as they fell to the Bulldogs 4-0 in the first game while dropping the second game 4-3 after Truman rallied for the come-from-behind win.
Game 1 - Truman 4, Washburn 0
The Lady Blues were limited to four hits over the first four innings while the Bulldogs (9-13, 2-0 MIAA) scored solo runs in the first and third innings and added two more in the bottom of the sixth for the 4-0 win. The Lady Blues strung together three two-out singles in the top of the seventh, but could not get any across the plate.
Lindsey Himpel recorded three hits going 3 for 4 to pace the Washburn attack.
Marissa Martin had two hits.
Kayla Long (6-8) took the loss after allowing nine hits with two strike outs.
Game 2 - Truman 4, Washburn 3
Washburn took an early 2-0 lead after a second inning home by
Lindsey Moore, her second of the season, which also scored
Britny Cushing who drew a two-out walk. The Bulldogs added one in the bottom of the third to cut the lead into half. Truman would knot the score at 2-2 after a solo run in the fourth. Washburn regained the lead at 3-2 in the top of the seventh on an RBI single up the middle by
Katie Duncan which scored Cushing who led off the inning with a walk. However the Bulldogs scored two in the bottom of the frame for 4-3 win. Martin, Duncan and Moore collected the three hits by the Lady Blues in the game while stranding four base runners.
Samantha Farris (1-3) picked up the loss in the circle for Washburn.
