Arthur Lonborg - Men's Basketball (1923-27)
Arthur Lonborg was the Washburn men's basketball head coach from 1923-27. In 1925, he coached the Ichabods to an AAU title, the last time a college team won that championship. He compiled a 63-17 record in during his four seasons as the head coach. After he retired from coaching, he became chairman of the NCAA Tournament Committee from 1947–60. He was the U.S. Olympic team manager for the 1960 Olympics. He also served as Kansas Jayhawks Athletic Director from 1950-63. He was inducted into the Washburn Athletic Hall of Fame in 1971.
