Brenda Shaffer-Dahl - Basketball (1986-90)
Brenda Shaffer-Dahl rewrote the Lady Blues’ record book during her four seasons at Washburn from 1986-1990. She was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999-00.

One of the best players in Lady Blues history, Shaffer-Dahl was a four-time all-conference pick and an All-American her final year.

Shaffer-Dahl scored 2,613 points in her four years as a Lady Blue, setting a record that still stands through the 2019-20 season. Her rebounding total of 1,106 also stands as a record and she is the only Washburn player to bring in over 1,000 rebounds.

She was a two-time Central States Intercollegiate Conference player of the year, the freshman of the year and the NAIA District 10 player of the year. In her four years the Lady Blues went 106-20 and won the CSIC three times.

In 1989-90, her senior year, the Lady Blues joined the MIAA and Shaffer-Dahl set a team record with 718 points. That record stood at Washburn until it was broken in 2005-06 and it still stands through 2006-07 as the fourth highest total in the MIAA. After breaking the 30-point barrier six times that season, including four straight games, she eclipsed the 30-point mark 13 times during her career.

Her 20.7 points per game stands as a school career record. She also holds WU records for career field goals made (1,061), field goals attempted (2,034) and blocks (160).
