Carla (Sintra) Freeman - Women's Basketball (2003-05)
Carla Sintra finished her career with 835 points and started all 68 games in her career in three seasons with Washburn wome's basketball. As a senior, she was a WBCA/Kodak All-American and was a first team Daktronics all-South Central Regional pick after she averaged 13.5 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. She was named the most outstanding player in Hot Springs, Ark. at the Elite Eight leading the Lady Blues to the 2005 NCAA National Championship. She was the MIAA's Most Valuable Player and the conference tournament's most valuable player as well.

During the six-game run to the national championship, Sintra averaged 14.0 points and 7.8 rebounds per game hitting 47 percent of her field goal attempts and 27-of-32 free throw attempts for an 84 percent average. She scored 21 points against Angelo State in the regional semifinals and recorded double doubles against Charleston in the National Quarterfinals with 16 points and 10 rebounds and then 19 points and 11 rebounds against Central Arkansas in the National Semifinals.

She was inducted into the Washburn Athletic Hall of Fame in 2017.
