Clarence Tyson - Men's Basketball (1992-94)
First team All-American Clarence Tyson was a two-year member of the Ichabods basketball team from 1992-1994. In his two seasons with Washburn, he helped lead the team to back-to-back NCAA Elite Eight appearances. As a senior, he earned first team All-American and first team all-MIAA honors, as well as all-region and team MVP honors. Tyson finished his career with 982 points and 563 rebounds, both among the top for two-year players when he finished. In his senior year he recorded 663 points, then the fourth highest single-season total at Washburn. He finished his two years averaging 15.1 points per game and 8.7 rebounds.
During the 2004-2005 basketball season, Tyson was named to the MIAA’s Silver Anniversary All-Tournament Team. Tyson played professionally in Australia and in the International Basketball Association and was named to the Washburn Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005.
