Ed Amsbaugh - Basketball and Football (1936-40)
Ed Amsbaugh earned four letters in football and in basketball while attending Washburn from 1936-40. In 1984-85 he was inducted into the Washburn Athletic Hall of Fame.

Amsbaugh was named to the all-Missouri Valley Conference first team as a guard in 1939-40, his senior year. His junior year he finished second on the team with 126 points.

After finishing his four years he coached the freshman team in 1940-41 and he earned his bachelor’s degree that spring. After graduation he served as a naval officer in World War II.
