Jesse Sherer - Men's Tennis (1993-97)
Jesse Sherer played four seasons for the Washburn men's tennis squad and became a three-time All-American, earning the honors in both singles and doubles as a senior after earning All-American in singles as a junior. He finished with a career singles record of 72-29 which rank second in school history on the wins chart. In doubles play, he finished 82-20 over four years for a combined record of 154-49. He teamed with Santiago Giraldo to set a Washburn single-season doubles win record of 32 during his senior season reaching the ITA Division II national championship match.

Sherer says his greatest memory at Washburn was winning the Rolex regional tennis tournament going to the National Tournament in Memphis where the St. Jude Kruger professional tournament is played and walking through the doors on the first day coming face to face with the six-foot tall trophy with the names of all the professional players who had won the tournament including Jimmy Connors, John McEnroe, Andre Agassi, Stephan Edbert and many others playing on the same court the great champions did.

Sherer lives in Rossville and has been a law enforcement office in Topeka since 1997 and was promoted to detective in 2009. Sherer and his wife Julie have three children Ariel, Alexander and Alivia.
