Ron Hamilton - Football (1979-80)
Ron Hamilton placed his name among the best receivers in Ichabod football history during his two seasons from 1979-80. He was inducted into the Washburn Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999-00.
After transferring from Garden City Community College, Hamilton came in and broke the single season records for receptions and receiving yardage by grabbing 50 balls for 791 yards to lead all receivers in the Central States Intercollegiate Conference.
Then Hamilton bettered both marks with another record-breaking year in 1980. He caught 84 passes and tallied 1,128 yards. The reception total stood until the 2010 season and the yardage total is fifth-highest, as of 2020.
For his efforts Hamilton garnered all-CSIC honors and NAIA All-American honors during his senior season.
His career totals of 134 receptions and 1,919 receiving yards are fifth and ninth, respectively in the Ichabod record books as of the summer of 2020.
