Troy Slusser - Football (1985-88)
Troy Slusser established himself as the best receiver in Ichabod history during his tenure at Washburn from 1985-88. He was inducted into the Washburn Athletic Hall of Fame in 1998-99.
Slusser was named an NAIA first team All-American in 1988, his senior year. He had 1,512 receiving yards that year to establish a school single-season record that stood until 2010. He also caught 68 passes that year, the second most in school history. The Ichabods went 7-4 that year and played in the NAIA playoff.
Slusser racked up 2,428 receiving yards in his career, a record that stood until 1995. Through 2020 he still holds the school record for touchdowns in a season (20) and points in a season (128).
He was named to the all-Central States Intercollegiate Conference team his final two years.
