LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Washburn volleyball moves up one spot in the latest AVCA national rankings released on Monday afternoon by the organization, rising to No. 9.  

The 14-1 (3-1 MIAA) Ichabods swept two matches over the weekend to get back in the win column and rise one spot from No. 10 to nine. Washburn received 760 total points in the rankings.  

Tampa moves into the top spot of the rankings with 37 first-place votes with Nebraska Kearney rising to No. 2 with three first place nods. Barry got four votes for first place and is ranked No. 3. Central Oklahoma fell out of the top spot with two first-place votes and is ranked No. 4. Point Loma is tabbed at No. 5 and got the final first-place nod.  

Around the MIAA Central Missouri moves into the top-25 at No. 24 while Missouri Western and Emporia State are receiving votes.  

Washburn is back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 7 on the road facing Emporia State at 6 p.m.
