Ryan Goodwin

Ryan Goodwin returned to Washburn in 2012 after two previous stints on the Ichabods bench and 2013 will be his second year back. He most recently worked at Jackson State in 2011 as the pitching coach, helping the Tigers lead the Southwestern Athletic Conference in ERA. In 2010 he led the Metro State pitching staff and also served as the recruiting coordinators. The Roadrunners finished second in team ERA in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference that year.

Goodwin also coached collegiality at Northeastern Junior College, Neosho County Community College and Highland Community College. He coached at Washburn in the fall in 2008 and 2010. He was the head coach and general manager of the Laramie (Wy.) Colts summer collegiate team from 2007 to 2009 and went 95-50 in his three year. He won league titles his first two years and postseason titles his final two years.

He attended Highland CC for two years and then played at South Dakota from 1999 to 2000. He finished as the all-time saves and career ERA leader for the Coyotes. He returned to USD to get his bachelor’s in recreation in 2002 and he will complete a master’s degree in sports leadership from Northcentral University in April.

Goodwin is a 1995 graduate of Lawrence High School and he was a member of the state runner-up football teams his junior and senior years.
