Sat out her first season at Washburn as a redshirt.

A 2011 graduate of Cheyenne East High School where she was a three-year letterwinner for the Lady Thunderbirds and a two-time all-conference performer...was named all-state following her senior season after leading the team to a fifth place finish at the Wyoming state tournament...finished her senior year with 336 kills and a .380 hitting percentage...a 4.0 honor student at Cheyenne East, Mayer played her club ball for the Norco Volleyball Club out of Windsor, Colorado.
