Biography

In 2022: Threw 19.1 innings scattered across 19 relief appearances ... finished second on the team with four saves and recorded 19 strikeouts ... earned his first save of the season against Northwestern Oklahoma (Feb. 12) and struck out a season-high four batters in 1.2 innings ... worked 1.2 clean innings against No. 4 Central Missouri (April 3).

In 2021: Made 11 appearances with two starts on the mound ... finished with 15 strikeouts and a 9.95 ERA in 12.2 innings pitched ... earned the save against Emporia State (April 10) as he closed out the ninth and recorded two strikeouts.

Before Washburn: Played two seasons at Santa Ana College ... finished with a career ERA of 4.54 in 30 appearances ... in his first season, tossed 54.1 innings spread across 20 appearances and had a 4.64 ERA with 48 strikeouts.

High School: Attended Gahr High School where he played at first base, catcher and in the outfield in addition to his time on the mound with the Gladiators ... earned a host of awards including Perfect Game All-California Region Honorable Mention, all-league first team and San Gabriel Valley League Pitcher of the Year ... helped his team win three league titles ... posted a 6-3 record to go along with an 0.88 ERA and 42 strikeouts in over 55 innings during his senior season

Personal: Son of Juan Manuel and Flora Casillas ... has three brothers, Candido, Alonso, and Ernesto ... his cousin, Alonzo Gonzalez, was a pitcher in the Toronto Blue Jays organization, reaching the triple-A team ... majoring in communication.
