Colby Yates joined the Ichabod golf coaching staff on August 5, 2024 helping with both the men's and women's golf programs.
Yates was a member of the Triton golf team at UMSL from 2013-16 where he was part of two Great Lakes Valley Conference championship teams earning first-team all-GLVC honors three times. In 2013 as a freshman he helped the Tritons to a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Division II National Championship meet.
Yates was a two-time Ping All-Midwest Region selection was named the UMSL Scholar Athlete of the Year as a senior.
At Tonganoxie High School, he was named the 2012 Kansas City Star Player of the Year and was the 2012 Class 4A state champion winning 15 tournaments overall with three-league individual titles and was a state medalist all four years.
Yates was the Head Golf Professional at Falcon Lakes Golf Club in Kansas City for three years after serving as the assistant professional for four years. He also spent one season as a graduate assistant coach at UMSL after wrapping up his playing career for the Tritons.
