Biography

At Washburn: Made 30 starts playing in 45 games recording 113 total tackles with 77 solo stops … also a record-setting member of the Ichabod track and field where he has the four fastest and eight of the top nine best times in school history in the 110m hurdles and the five fastest times in the 60m hurdles.

In 2019: Started all 11 games en route to second team all-MIAA honors …  had 32 tackles with 23 solo stops collecting two interceptions and returned one fumble 47 yards for a touchdown against Missouri Southern … was second in the MIAA in passes defended with 15 and his 13 pass break-ups were tied for the league lead … three-time Ichabod defensive skill player of the week award winner … also a member of the Ichabod track and field team.

In 2018: Started six games playing in all 11 making 23 tackles with 15 solo stops adding two tackles for loss for seven yards and a sack … had an interception against Nebraska-Kearney and returned a blocked field goal attempt 90 yards for a touchdown against Missouri Southern … a two-time Ichabod defensive skill player of the week winner … also a member of the Ichabod track and field team.

In 2017: Played in all 12 games making nine starts recoding 43 tackles with 30 solo stops and two interceptions for 48 yards and one touchdown while recovering two fumbles … had a career-high 10 tackles against Fort Hays State with nine solo stops … averaged 12.3 yards per punt return on 18 attempts and had six kickoff returns for 99 yards … a two-time Ichabod special teams player of the week … also a member of the Ichabod track and field team.

In 2016: Made four starts and appeared in 11 games recording 15 tackles with nine solo stops … led the Ichabods with three blocked kicks … received the Ichabod big hit award once and special teams player of the week once … led the Ichabods with 19 kickoff returns for 490 yards averaging 25.8 per attempt … had a career-high four tackles against Missouri Western and blocked two kicks on field goal attempts against Bemidji State in the Mineral Water Bowl … also a member of the Ichabod track and field team where he has five of the top seven times in school history in the 60m hurdles indoors and the top six fastest times in school history in the 110m hurdles in a school record time of 14.86. 

In 2015: Sat out the season as a redshirt. 

Background: As a senior he broke four school records after rushing for 1,100 yards and 11 touchdowns on 135 carries averaging 8.1 per carry … also had nine catches for 143 yards and one score … had 10 kickoff returns for 335 yards … rushed for a single-game school-record six touchdowns and 313 yards as a senior … scored 78 points overall during the season named honorable mention all-conference … had 48 tackles as a junior with 38 solo stops … a state qualifier in track in the 110 and 300 hurdles and 4x200 relay.

Personal: Son of Timothy and Tora Wright … younger brother Nicholas will be a freshman for the Ichabods this season … father played football at Missouri, Tennessee and in the NFL … majoring in kinesiology.
