Jim Biggs begins his first season as an assistant with the Lady Blues in 2011-12. He was named Washburn’s assistant coach on July 18, 2011.
He brings 19 years of coaching experience from the AAU ranks and has sent numerous players on to play college basketball.
As a player, Biggs was a three-time honorable mention all-CSIC pick at Emporia State where he scored 1,002 points in 115 career games from 1982 to 1986 for the Hornets averaging 8.7 points per game. He currently ranks 23rd on the ESU scoring chart and finished his career 13th on the all-time chart. He also recorded 662 career rebounds which is eighth on the ESU career chart and was sixth when he ended his career.
Biggs received his bachelor of arts in business administration from ESU in 1986 and graduated from the Washburn School of Law in 1989.
Biggs has two children, Lindsay, a sophomore volleyball player at Eckerd College, and Lauren, an eighth-grader at Washburn Rural Middle School.
