Taylor Gonzales is in her second season as an assistant coach on the Ichabod track and field team and will work with the distance runners. Gonzales was a two-time MIAA Outdoor Champion in the 5000m and qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships finishing 17th in the nation in the 5000m in a time of 16:56.08. As a senior she won the 5000m at the MIAA Outdoor Championships and finished third in the 1500m in a time of 4:36.82 earning 16 team points and set two school records in the 1500m and the 5000m at the Bryan Clay Invitational in a times of 4:33.70 and 16:35.00.

Prior to her arrival at Washburn she competed at Montevallo University earning indoor all-region honors.

She has graduated from Montevallo with her bachelor's degree in exercise and nutrition science and she graduated with her master's degree in communication and leadership at Washburn in December, 2022
