Washburn Hall of Fame - Ron Hamilton

Ron Hamilton
Football 1979-80
Inducted 1999-00

Ron Hamilton placed his name among the best receivers in Ichabod football history during his two seasons from 1979-80. He was inducted into the Washburn Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999-00.

After transferring from Garden City Community College, Hamilton came in and broke the single season records for receptions and receiving yardage by grabbing 50 balls for 791 yards to lead all receivers in the Central States Intercollegiate Conference.

Then Hamilton bettered both marks with another record-breaking year in 1980. He caught 84 passes and tallied 1,128 yards. The reception total still stands as a school record through the 2006 season and the yardage total is third highest.

For his efforts Hamilton garnered all-CSIC honors and NAIA All-American honors during his senior season.

His career totals of 134 receptions and 1,919 receiving yards are fourth and sixth, respectively in the Ichabod record books.
