Tim Hammes helped lead No. 8 Washburn to a 7-0 home-opening win over No. 19 Midwestern State on Saturday afternoon. The senior won 7-6(6) at No. 1 doubles with Matthew Earle, clinching the first point of the match. He added another point for the Ichabods with a two-set win at No. 1 singles over Filip Vacula of the Mustangs.
