Molly Smith was named the MIAA's volleyball Specialist of the Week for her performance in three Lady Blue wins last week. This is the second Player of the Week award for Smith this season.
In Washburn's three sweeps last week Smith averaged 6.00 digs and 1.22 assists per set. She had 20 digs and five assists in the 3-0 win over Missouri Southern. Against Southwest Baptist she had nine digs and five assists, then finished off the week with a match-high 25-dig performance against Pittsburg State.
Smith now has 1,972 career digs, which ranks second all-time at Washburn and is one dig shy of eighth place in MIAA history.
