Freshman pitcher Connor Brady threw his first career start and got a complete game win over Southwest Baptist Sunday. He struck out 11 batters to tie for the sixth highest single-game total at Washburn since records were kept in 1999 and he became the first Ichabod since 2008 to throw 10 or more strikeouts. Brady gave up an unearned run in the third and a solo home run in the seventh inning. Overall, he allowed just four hits and walked none. He struck out the side twice in the seventh inning and struck out two batters in the fifth and seventh. Brady improved to 2-0 on the year.
