Payton Soicher hit .615 in four starts last week as Washburn Baseball went 4-0 to move within one game of first place in the MIAA standings. Â Soicher was 8-for-13 at the plate with two doubles, two triples and a home run, driving in six with a 1.308 slugging percentage. Â The Ichabod left fielder drew one walk and was hit by a pitch as part of a .667 on-base percentage, and Soicher was 2-for-2 in stolen base attempts. Â In the field, Soicher had five putouts and a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. In a win over Emporia State to open the week, Soicher went 2-for-4 with a two-RBI triple and a stolen base before a 4-for-4 performance in the series opener at Lincoln with a triple and a home run, finishing one double away from the cycle. Â Soicher had doubles in the two final games of the LU series.
