Washburn men's tennis senior, Matt Barlow, has been named the men's tennis athlete of the week the MIAA announced this morning.

For the first time in his career Barlow has picked up MIAA weekly honors after notching a pair of wins over Northwest Missouri State and Colorado Mesa netters. The Abilene, Kan. native extended his win streak to seven with a 7-6, 6-4 win over Bearcat netter Mauro Tete and followed that up with a 6-1, 6-3 ousting of Mavericks netter Max Lindqvist.

This is the third weekly honor for both the men and women's teams combined this season. Washburn will return to action on Wednesday when the team host MIAA foe Nebraska-Kearney.
