Soler Valverde, who is ranked No. 40 in Division II women’s singles, won both her singles matches at the No. 4 slot last week and helped the No. 5 Washburn women’s tennis team (20-1, 9-0 MIAA) win the MIAA regular season title against No. 28 Southwest Baptist. She recorded a 6-1, 6-2 decision in the 7-0 sweep over Lindenwood on April 12 and then won the clinching match in the 4-3 victory against Southwest Baptist on April 13 with a dominant 6-0, 6-1 performance for her 16th-straight win.
