Tyjai Adams joined the Washburn track and field squad in 2016 as one of the first group of signees when the program restarted. She holds the school record in the 100m hurdles as well as eight of the fastest nine times in program history in the event. She also owns the school record in the 60m hurdles with the fastest 10 times in program history. She was fifth in the 60m hurdles at the MIAA Indoor Championships earlier this season. She is majoring in nursing and has been a seven-time member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll coming to Washburn from Hutchinson, Kan.
