Paul Haase joined Washburn tennis in 2016 and earned ITA All-American honors in 2019 finishing ranked as the No. 6 doubles team in the nation alongside teammate Alejandro Valarezo Plaza. The duo went 23-4 overall in the 2018-19 season, claimed the ITA Central Region Championship title, placed third at the ITA National Cup, and earned a place on the all-MIAA first team at No. 1 doubles. He also received an all-MIAA honorable mention selection (2017) and landed on the all-MIAA second team (2018) at No. 3 doubles. His career doubles record of 72-21 marks the sixth-most victories in Washburn history and his 62-30 singles record is the 10th-most in program history. He is a three-time MIAA Scholar Athlete and Academic Honor Roll member. Haase is from Bielefeld, Germany and is majoring in international business.
