Jacob Head is a five-year member of Washburn Baseball making 32 starts in 39 overall appearances on the mound for a career record of 15-8. He was an all-MIAA honorable mention selection in 2019 after throwing 70.1 innings with 53 strikeouts. In six starts during the 2020 season, he went 5-1 with a 3.98 ERA in 31.2 innings pitched. His 30 strikeouts were the second-most recorded on the team. Head struck out a career-high nine batters in five innings against McKendree on Feb. 15 and in his next start he tossed six scoreless innings against Regis, allowing just three hits while striking out nine again. He is a four-time MIAA Academic Honor Roll member, an MIAA Scholar Athlete (2019), and earned the MIAA Academic Excellence award (2016). The southpaw is from Topeka, Kan. and is working towards his MBA.
