Washburn University Athletics

Melody Baker joined the Washburn track and field team in 2016 and holds eight of the top-10 indoor weight throw marks in program history and owns the school record in the outdoor hammer throw (149-08.00). Baker also has the seventh-best outdoor discus throw in Washburn’s history. She has been a eight-time member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and MIAA Academic Excellence listings and she has already graduated with criminal justice degree and is working on her master's degree. She is from Olathe, Kan.
