WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- For the second time in less than a week the Washburn Lady Blues soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Central Missouri. The Lady Blues' record falls to 4-4-1 and 1-3 in the MIAA and will take on Southwest Baptist on Saturday in Bolivar, Mo.
After a scoreless first half, the Jennies' Hazel Cox scored the only goal of the match 57 seconds into the half in what would be the only goal they would need for the win.
Washburn held a 4-2 advantage in the first half in shots while the Jennies outshot Washburn 7-2 in the second half and 9-6 for the match.
Ashley Klone had four saves in goal for the Lady Blues.
Traci Nigg had the only two shots on goal for the Lady Blues, who went without a shot on goal in the first half.
The teams combined for 24 fouls with the Lady Blues committing 14. Washburn did have a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.
