Season Stats

TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Lady Blues tossed their second straight shutout on the tennis courts with a 9-0 win over Missouri Western improving to 7-2 on the season and 3-0 in MIAA play. The Lady Blues will be in action this weekend on the road in conference action on Friday at Nebraska-Omaha and Saturday at Northwest Missouri.

Against the Griffons, the Lady Blues blitzed their doubles competition dropping only four games while the No. 2 duo of Alyssa Castillo and Whitley Zitsch blanked Michelle Ritter and Amber Adams 8-0. Washburn continued its hot play in singles action dropping only six games in the 12 total sets which were played as Abbey Sharpe picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles over Dominique Leone while no other Lady Blue lost more than two game in each of their straight set victories.
