BOLIVAR, Mo. -- The No. 43 ranked Washburn Lady Blues tennis team won 8-1 over Southwest Baptist improving to 11-2 overall and 7-0 in the MIAA. Washburn will take on Rockhurst on April 15 in Kansas City. The win was the seventh in a row for Washburn.

Washburn opened up the match by winning all three doubles contests with the No. 1 duo of Trang Le Nguyen and Abbey Sharpe needing an 8-6 win in the tie breaker for a 9-8 victory over Jolee Cook and Johanna Olsson for Southwest Baptist. All of the wins by the Lady Blues in singles play were in straight sets with the lone Bearcat win coming in a third set tiebreaker.
