Golden, Colo. -- The Washburn Lady Blues soccer team opened the 2009 season with a 2-0 setback at Colorado Mines. The Lady Blues will be back in action on Saturday at Colorado State-Pueblo.

Washburn could not get anything going offensively as they were outshot by the Orediggers 18 to 5 including a 12-3 mark in the second half. Washburn's Ashley Klone recorded seven saves in net for the Lady Blues allowing the two goals.

Ashley Taylor, Angela Wiseman, Lauren Henry, Tia Stovall and Stefanie Stuever recorded the five shots and Stuever's attempt was the only shot on goal attempted by the Lady Blues.
