Washburn will be back in action on Saturday at 7 p.m. in Lee Arena when they will face Kansas Wesleyan. The Ichabods let from the get-go when Logan Stutz took a pass from De'Andre Washington on the opening tip scoring in the lane for the early lead and one which the Ichabods would not give up the rest of the night as they jumped out to an 11-0 lead 3:59 into the game. A lay up by Peru State's Derrick Williams at the 12:26 mark of the half cut the Ichabod lead to 14-7, but a 9-0 spurt by the Ichabods over the next five minutes put the game out of reach as Washburn improved to 73-31-1 in its first game of the seaosn and 29-4 under head coach Bob Chipman. Stutz led five Ichabods in double figures with 20 points on 7 of 9 shooting from the field. Washington had 15 points to go with seven rebounds. Bobby Chipman scored 11 and Virgil Philistin and Jeff Reid each had 10. Nate Daniels had a career-high seven assists to go with seven rebounds. Jacob Schaben and Derrick Williams each had seven points to lead Peru State. Washburn finished a sizzling 38 of 64 from the field hitting 59 percent of their shots. Washburn was also 9 of 20 from 3-point range and held a 40-29 advantage on the glass.
