WICHITA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabod tennis team fell 6-1 to NCAA Division I foe Wichita State at the Sheldon Coleman Complex.

After falling behind 1-0 (NCAA Division I uses a 2 of 3 doubles wins for one point in the team scores) after being swept by the Shockers, the Ichabods picked up their lone win as Simon Blondin at No. 3 singles beat the Shockers' Valentin Mihal 6-4, 6-3. At No. 2 singles, Wichita State's Vlad Marinescu needed a super tiebreak to top Branden Joost taking the decisive set 10-3.
