TOPEKA, Kan. -- The No. 22-ranked Washburn Ichabod tennis team rallied from a 2-1 deficit following doubles play to take five of six singles matches in a 6-3 win over No. 32 ranked Rockhurst at the Washburn Tennis Courts. Washburn will be back in action this weekend against Truman in Kirksville, Mo.

The Ichabods' (7-5) No. 3 doubles team of Yann Kasay and Emmanuel Laurent fought back from a 2-0 hole to top Rod Gauto-Mariotti and Paublo Bombonatti 8-6. In singles play, Washburn won at No. 1 singles as Branden Joost topped Ben Newell 6-3, 6-2. At No. 2 singles, Ryan Ward won a three-set decision over Zach Newell 6-2, 1-6, 6-1. At No. 3 singles, Simon Blondin topped Victor Klintcharov 7-6, 6-2. Adam Rens picked up a three-set win over John Lazenby 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 at No. 5 singles and Laurent topped Bombonatti at No. 6 singles 6-4, 7-6.
