TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Lady Blues tennis team fell to No. 41 ranked Northwest Missouri 6-3 on Monday afternoon at the Washburn tennis courts. The loss was the first in MIAA play for the Lady Blues as they fell to 4-1 in conference play and 9-6 overall. The team will be back in action on Wednesday when they will play host to Emporia State.

The No. 1 doubles team of Trang Le Nguyen and Alyssa Castillo picked up the lone doubles win of the match for the Lady Blues topping NWMSU's Erika Leston and Emily Hoffman 8-4. In singles play Le Nguyen picked up her 20th singles win of the season beating Leston 6-2, 6-3 and Morgan Rainey defeated Lisa Pendrak 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. The Lady Blues fell in the remaining four singles flights.
