ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -- The Lady Blues tennis team rolled into the MIAA Tournament Championship match on Sunday with a 5-1 win over Emporia State. With the win the Lady Blues will take on the top-seeded Northwest Missouri State team on Sunday in Kansas City.

Washburn won of two of three doubles matches jumping out to the 2-1 lead. Trang Le Nguyen won her No. 1 singles match with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep over Talena Lorren. At No. 2 singles Morgan Rainey rebounded from a 6-1 setback in the first set to take the next two 6-2, 6-0 over Amanda Morris. Whitley Zitsch won her match at No. 3 singles 6-1, 6-1 leading Washburn to the 5-1 win.
