SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Washburn Ichabod tennis team fell in their season opener 7-2 to No. 18-ranked Drury in Springfield. The Ichabods will take on Division I foe Wichita State on Feb. 19 in Wichita.

The Ichabods lost two of the three doubles matches to begin play with the No. 3 team of Steve Fletcher and Samir Haikal  topping Jandui Reyes and Bryce Merritt 8-4. In singles play, Pascal Laucht picked up the lone win at No. 4 singles topping Lukas Kriem 5-7, 6-2, 10-5 for the win.
