Washburn falls 1-0 to #25 Jennies

TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Lady Blues were out shot 31 to 1 in 90 minutes of action in a 1-0 non-conference loss to No. 25-ranked Central Missouri Thursday night in Yager Stadium. Washburn will be back on the pitch on Saturday when they will play host to Fort Hays State at 6 p.m.

The Jennies scored the lone goal of the match 22:11 into the first half when Nicki Wisnasky scored her third goal of the season on an assist from Alyssa Rhodes as Central Missouri took the 1-0 lead into the halftime break.

In the second half, the Jennies (4-1-0) kept the pressure on the Lady Blues (0-5-1) outshooting Washburn 21 to 0 in the frame en route to the 31 to 1 UCM advantage.

Washburn's Leah Talley had the only shot on goal for the Lady Blues while starting goalkeeper Tori Fuglister recorded a career-high 10 saves in 55-plus minutes of play before leaving the game with an injury. She was replaced by Mallorie Monhollon in net, who recorded four saves in 34 minutes of action.

MEDIA NOTE: On the attached html box score, all of the team stats for Central Missouri are recorded under #99 team as the Jennies did not bring their game uniforms with them from Warrensburg.
