TOPEKA, Kan. -- The third-ranked Lady Blues swept Lindenwood 25-19, 25-17, 25-18 Friday night in Lee Arena to set up a match for the MIAA title Saturday against fourth-ranked Nebraska-Kearney at 6 p.m. in Senior Day for the three Lady Blues seniors.
Washburn improved to 30-1 and 15-1 in the MIAA while Lindenwood fell to 15-16 and 5-12 in the MIAA. UNK swept Central Missouri to move to 29-2 and 15-1 and will be looking for an MIAA title in its first year in the conference. The Lady Blues will be looking for their third straight conference title.
The Lady Blues clinched their sixth straight 30-win season and 11th in school history.

Hillary Hughes had a double-double with 12 kills and 11 digs. She hit .333 with four aces.
Marissa Cox added 11 kills and hit .381 with a pair of blocks and
Jessica Kopp and
Jessica Fey each had eight kills.
Gracie Petersen started the final two sets and led Washburn with 25 assists. She added seven assists and two blocks.
Courtney Churchman and
Kelsey Lewis each had eight digs.
There were 11 ties and Washburn trailed twice in the opening set. They took a 17-15 lead on a kill from Hughes but the Lions scored two straight to tie it. Hughes then had another kill that started a 7-1 run that got Washburn to set point at 25-18. The Lions scored once more before Kopp ended the set with a kill.
After a 9-9 tie in the second set, Washburn was able to gain control with a 5-0 run and stretch it to a 12-2 run that made the score 21-11. Fey later got Washburn to set point and
Rebecca Maasen closed the set with a kill.
The final set was close with Washburn leading 18-16 late. The Lady Blues then closed the match on a 7-2 run with Kopp getting the clincher.
Washburn hit .296 as a team and blocked four shots while Lindenwood hit .164 with five blocks. Washburn led in kills, 49-34 and in digs, 47-41.
Erin Anselman and Kelsey Kennedy led the Lions with eight kills each and Kaila Schrimpf had 13 digs.
