TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabods nearly rallied from a 3-0 deficit in tennis action with Rockhurst but ended up falling 5-4. The Ichabods will be back in action on Saturday at Wichita State.

After Washburn entered singles play down 3-0, Arkadiusz Kozaczuk won his match at No. 1 singles 6-3, 6-4 over Yassir El Ghazi. Pascal Laucht dropped the first set at No. 2 singles 5-7, but came back with straight set wins at 6-3, 6-3 to top John Lazenby. Steven Fletcher won in straight sets at 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3 singles over Victor Klintcharov. Chance Joost won his match at No. 6 singles 6-1, 6-7 and 10-5.
