ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -- The Washburn Lady Blues tennis team rolled to a 9-0 win over Missouri Western in their MIAA opener Wednesday night in St. Joseph. The Lady Blues will return to action in regional play against Cameron on March 10.

The Lady Blues dropped only four games in doubles play while the No. 2 team of Sophie O'Neill and Alyssa Castillo tossed a shutout winning 8-0. Washburn's play carried over to singles where the Lady Blues won all six flights in straight sets dropping 11 games while Castillo picked up a pair of 6-0 wins at No. 5 singles.
