WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The Washburn Lady Blues held a 1-0 lead at the half, but couldn't it make it stand up as Central Missouri rallied in the second half for a 3-1 win. Washburn will be back in action on Saturday at Southwest Baptist.
Washburn (1-5, 1-1 MIAA) took the lead as
Lindsey Lambert scored her first collegiate goal in the fourth minute from 15-yards out on an assist from
Caysie Beetley as the Lady Blues took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
In the second half, Washburn still held a 1-0 lead with just over 15 minutes left but Central Missouri (5-0-2, 2-0-1 MIAA) scored the equalizer at the 74:59 mark and 63 seconds later added another goal to take a 2-1 lead over Washburn. The Jennies added a third goal at the 79:01 mark to take a 3-1 lead.
Washburn was outshot 15 to 4 in the match and the Jennies had a 10 to 3 advantage in corner kicks.
