First touch
• The Washburn Ichabod soccer team will travel for the second time in a week to St. Joseph, Mo., on Wednesday to take on Missouri Western in a match which was canceled because of lightning after leading 1-0 at the half.Â
• The original match was scheduled for Oct. 11 in Spratt Stadium.
• On Sunday, the Ichabods will take on Lindenwood traveling to St. Charles, Mo., for the first time to face the Lions.
• The Lions are tied on top of the MIAA standings with 13 points along with Central Missouri who also has 13 points.
• The Ichabods (6-5-1, 3-2-1 MIAA) ran their unbeaten streak to four matches after defeating Northwest Missouri 3-0 last time out on Oct. 13.
• As of Oct. 15, the Ichabods are currently in a two-way tie for fifth place in the MIAA standings. The top six teams in the final standings will advance to the MIAA Postseason Tournament.
• The four-game unbeaten streak is the longest for the Ichabods since a four-game unbeaten streak including a  three-game winning streak from Sept. 18 to Sept. 30 during the 2010 season when they went 3-0-1.
• Washburn's six wins this season is one more than the number of wins the Ichabods had during the 2012 (4) and 2011 (1) seasons combined.
• Washburn has recorded five shutouts this season (all by
Tori Fuglister) … that's the most since the 2008 season when Washburn recorded eight shutouts.

Caysie Beetley has a team-high four assists and a goal this season for six points … she had a goal against Missouri Western wiped out because of the cancelation of the match.

Tori Fuglister has played all 1118:44 in goal this season allowing 11 goals and a 0.88 goal against average recording 52 saves with a .825 save percentage.
• Of the 22 goals scored by the Ichabods this season, seven have been recorded by freshmen.

What's in a name
• Starting this season all of the women's athletic teams will be called Ichabods.
• All women's teams prior to the 2013-14 school year can and will be referenced to as Lady Blues.
• Name change was made to have a unified athletic department and to have a graphical representation of the sports teams at Washburn.
• 'Bods is allowable on second reference
• Lady Ichabods or Lady 'Bods should never be used.
Noting Missouri Western
• Missouri Western is 2-9-1 overall this season and 0-5-0 in MIAA play.
• The Griffons are winless in their last seven matches going 0-7-1.
• Their last win was a 1-0 victory against Wayne State.
• Tara Russell has four of the Griffons' six goals this season.
• Ashley Juravich has the other two goals.
• Sarah Lyle is 2-6-1 in net with two shutouts with a 1.95 goal against average.

• The Ichabods lead the all-time series 10-5-0.
• Washburn snapped a three-game winning streak by the Griffons with a 2-0 win in Topeka last season on Oct. 5.

(10/13/2013) TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabod soccer team ran its unbeaten streak to four with a 3-0 win over Northwest Missouri on Sunday in Yager Stadium.Â
Washburn had a 1-0 lead at the halftime break when they scored the first goal of the match off a corner kick from
Kaitlyn Doescher to
Lara Doescher who scored from 5-yards out recording her first goal of the season in the 26th minute.
The Ichabods added to their score in the 56th minute when
Caysie Beetley found a streaking
Kate Combs down the field for a break away goal when Combs scored from 18-yards out on her third goal of the season putting Washburn up 2-0.
Washburn wrapped up the scoring when Katilyn Doescher scored her first goal of the season off an assist from
Brianna Ament from the corner of the penalty box after sending the ball over the keeper's outstretched hands into the back of the net.
Tori Fuglister recorded her fifth shutout of the season recording four saves facing 12 shots. Washburn outshot the Bearcats 16 to 12 in the match.
Beetley led the Ichabods with four shots including two on goal. Jordan Albright had three shots with two on goal to lead the Bearcats.
