No. 12 Washburn will return home this weekend to host Southwest Baptist Friday at 7 p.m. at Schendel Court in Lee Arena and then host fourth-ranked Central Missouri Saturday at 3 p.m. The Ichabods and Jennies are the only remaining undefeated teams in the MIAA and this will be the only regular season meeting between the two schools.
The Ichabods swept four opponents last weekend at Missouri Southern and improved to 19-3 and 6-0 in the MIAA. The Bearcats are 13-6 and 3-3 in the league and are seven games above .500 for the first time since 1987. The Jennies are 7-0 in the MIAA and are the only top-20 team in the nation undefeated with a 20-0 record. They earned two of the 48 first-place votes.

UCM has been ranked in the top 10 in each of the last 10 meetings against Washburn. UCM has won six of those 10 meetings.
This is the first time during that 10-match stretch that Washburn was not also in the top 10.
Washburn's win against UNK on Oct. 5 was its first against a top-five opponent since beating No. 1 Tampa in the 2007 NCAA national quarterfinal in Topeka.
The Ichabods were 0-6 in the previous matches against top-five opponents. They also hadn't beat UNK since 1986, going 0-14 in the previous matches.
Abby Wittman is 4th in career assists with 3,248 & needs 505 to move to third. She's 8th with 8.08 assists per set in her career and 14th with 105 service aces.
Wittman is 4th with 1,813 serve attempts and 18th with 1,150 digs.
Kelsey Lewis is 16th at Washburn with 1,175 digs and 8th with 3.52 per set.
WU is first in the MIAA with 18.71 digs per set and second allowing opponents to hit just .134 this year. The Ichabods are 3rd in attack percentage & in kills.
Cox is 4th in the MIAA with 3.72 kills/set and 5th with a .335 attack percentage. Willer is 7th with 3.32 kills/set, the highest freshman total.
Corrine Stringer has 956 kills during her career. She played at PSU from 2009-10 and played at Kansas in 2008.
Herron is 20-0 against SBU and WU leads the all-time series 41-4. SBU's last win was in 1998.
Herron is 12-16 against Central Missouri but 8-3 against the Jens in Lee Arena. UCM has been ranked in every meeting. The Jens lead the all-time series 48-13.

Ichabods continue climb with jump to 12th in national poll
The Ichabods moved up in the poll for the second straight week, this time climbing one spot to 12th in the nation in the AVCA ranking released Monday. This is Washburn's 128th straight AVCA ranking, a streak that dates back to the start of the 2004 season.
The ranking sets up a key match this weekend as Washburn and fourth-ranked Central Missouri will play at 3 p.m. Saturday.
Concordia-St. Paul (17-1) got 46 top votes and is No. 1 in the poll. The Central Region makes up seven of the top 15 teams in the country. Â
Tied Atop MIAA Standings
Washburn and Central Missouri remain only undefeated schools in conference
The Ichabods enter the weekend at 6-0 in the MIAA while Central Missouri is 7-0 after getting a win Tuesday against Northwest Missouri. Both teams are the only remaining undefeated teams in the MIAA. Saturday's match will be the only in the regular season between these two schools.
The top four teams in the MIAA host Nos. 5-8 in the first round of the postseason tournament November 19 and then the highest remaining seed hosts the semifinals November 22 and championship match on November 23.

Wittman climbs assists chart, Stringer nears 1,000 kills
Wittman is fourth in career assists at Washburn with 3,248 and she needs 505 to move to third and 667 to move to second. She's fourth at Washburn with 1,813 service attempts and 18th with 1,150 digs.
Corrine Stringer has 129 kills in her one year at Washburn. Adding her previous three years at Pittsburg State and Kansas, she has 956 career kills. She played at PSU from 2009-10 and at KU from 2008.

Washburn will be idle once again during the midweek and then play Friday, October 25 at Northwest Missouri and then October 26 at Missouri Western. This will start a streak where seven of the final 10 matches are on the road.
