ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -- The Washburn Ichabod soccer team picked up its third straight shutout and the sixth of the season increasing its unbeaten streak to five in a 2-0 win over Missouri Western. The Ichabods (7-5-1, 4-2-1 MIAA) will be back in action on Sunday when they will face Lindenwood.

In a make up of last Friday's game which was canceled with the Ichabods leading 1-0 at the half because of lightning in the area the Ichabods and the Griffons (2-10-1, 0-6-0 MIAA) were tied 0-0 at the half with Washburn holdinga  7 to 1 advantage in shots.

However in the second half it took 2:23 for the Ichabods to take the lead for good when Caysie Beetley recorded her second goal of the season. Less than six minutes later, Bailey Wobig scored her third goal of the season off an assist from Beetley (her fifth in eight games this year) putting Washburn up 2-0 in the 53rd minute.

Tori Fuglister picked up her sixth shutout of the season in net for Washburn picking up one save while facing five shots.

Washburn outshot the Griffons 15 to five in the match putting nine of the 15 shots on goal. All four of Beetley's shots were on goal and Wobig had three shots on goal and a team-high five shots in the match.
