KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The No. 50-ranked Washburn Ichabod tennis team knocked off the No. 46-ranked Rockhurst Hawks with a 6-3 win on Thursday afternoon in Kansas City. Washburn will face Lindenwood on Friday afternoon at the Kossover Tennis Center.
The Ichabods were up 2-1 after doubles play as
Arek Kozaczuk picked up a 9-8 win taking the tiebreak 7-3 at No. 1 doubles while
Bobby Florence and
Chance Joost won their No. 3 doubles match 8-1.
Washburn took four of the six singles matches as
Steven Fletcher (No. 3),
Steven Fletcher (No. 4)
Bobby Florence (No. 5) and
Chance Joost (No. 6) all won their matches in straight sets.
