Lady Blues return to the court for 4 matches this week

Warm ups . . . 
The Washburn Lady Blues tennis is set for a busy week with four matches as they will take on Emporia State on Tuesday followed by a non-conference match with Midwestern State on Friday in Topeka. Washburn will wrap up the week with MIAA matches hosting Fort Hays State on Saturday and Nebraska-Kearney on Sunday. Washburn is coming of a 9-0 win over Lincoln last time out.
Drop shots . . . 
• Washburn officially went 1-0 last week topping Lincoln on March 29, but they also defeated a previously unbeaten Johnson County team 5-4 on March 26 in an exhibition match.
• The Hornets are 10-4 this season and 3-3 in MIAA play.
• Emporia State fell 9-0 to Southwest Baptist and topped Truman 8-1 last time out.
• Midwestern State is ranked No. 27 in the latest ITA College Poll.
• The Mustangs are 10-5 this season and will face Texas A&M-Kingsville on Tuesday prior to facing the Lady Blues.
• Fort Hays State is 8-5 this season and 2-3 in MIAA matches.
• The Tigers will battle Emporia State on Friday before traveling to face the Lady Blues the following day in Topeka.
• Nebraska-Kearney is 13-5 this season while going 3-4 so far in MIAA play.
• The Lopers will take on Concordia on April 3 followed by matches at Truman on April 5, Emporia State on April 6 and then in Topeka against Washburn on April 7.
Jodie Blackim leads the team with eight singles wins this season while Gwen Shepler, Sophie O'Neill, Rachel Hageman and Casyn Buchman each have five wins.
• In singles play this season, Washburn is 34-77 overall while recording a 24-36 record in doubles play.
• In dual matches, Washburn is 11-52 in singles play while going 11-22 in doubles play.
• Washburn is 7-14 in singles play in MIAA dual matches.
• The doubles team of Blackim and Kirsten Holle has five of the 11 dual doubles wins.
• Washburn has had 13 different doubles team combinations and nine of those have come in dual matches.
Up Next. . . 
Washburn will continue MIAA play with matches at Northwest Missouri on April 10 followed by an April 12 date with Truman and April 13 at Missouri Western. Washburn's regular season home finale with be against William Jewell on April 16 and the Lady Blues will wrap up the regular season at Southwest Baptist on April 16 in a rescheduled match from March 30 which was postponed because of rain.
