TOPEKA, Kan. -- The No. 38-ranked Washburn Ichabod tennis team fell 5-2 to No. 22-ranked Northwest Missouri on Wednesday night in St. Joseph. The Ichabods return to the court on Friday against Truman in Topeka.

The Ichabods (8-5, 3-1 MIAA) trailed 2-1 after doubles to the Bearcats (14-3, 2-0 MIAA) as the Ichabod team of Chance Joost and Bobby Florence picked up a 9-7 win over Rafael Bugiga and Dylan Bernatzky at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, Washburn's Pascal Laucht topped Lluis Altimires 7-6, 6-4 at No. 3 singles to record the Ichabods' second point. The match was completed after the Bearcats reached five points to clinch the match.
