Season Stats

EMPORIA, Kan. -- The Washburn Lady Blues tennis team fell 7-2 at Emporia State. Washburn will continue play with No. 27 Midwestern State on Friday in Topeka. Washburn will wrap up the week with MIAA matches hosting Fort Hays State on Saturday and Nebraska-Kearney on Sunday. 

The Lady Blues opened the match with a win at No. 1 doubles as the team of Jodie Blackim and Kirsten Holle topped Nicole Jara and Taylor Smith 8-5. After dropping the last two matches in doubles play, the Lady Blues were able to pick up only one other win in singles action as Casyn Buchman beat Tiffany Khounsombath 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 singles for Washburn.
